Antinori

Marchesi Antinori is the most famous name in Italian wine, and few figures have had more impact than Piero Antinori, whose bold innovations over the last 25 years reshaped winemaking in Tuscany and beyond. With the release of Tignanello in 1971—a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French barriques—Antinori broke with tradition and sparked a revolution. The result was not treason, as critics first claimed, but the birth of the Super-Tuscan movement.
