2017 Solaia, Antinori, Tuscany, Italy

Rich, dark fruit, but quite closed on the nose. Ripe Cabernet Sauvignon, blackcurrant fruit on the palate, along with red cherry notes from the Sangiovese, tempered by hints of new oak and spice. Zippy acidity and fine, grippy tannins add balance. This is a very classy offering from the Antinoris and will be superb from 2022-2035.
