2023 Meursault, Clos du Cromin, Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, Burgundy

Half of this parcel is almost a century old, with vines having been planted in 1927. The other half was planted in 2000m but has since been grubbed up due to rootstock issues. Old vines give this wine real power and weight; there is good structure on the palate, with an almost tannic grip, bright lemon-and-lime flavours, and a mineral edge that provides balance. The finish has a refreshing, savoury side, and tingling acidity that cuts through the richness and concentration.
