2022 Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, Cuvée Sétier, Château Pegau

Château Pegau is the sister project of the renowned Domaine de Pegau, the latter of which is famed for its Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Château Pegau instead focuses on the surrounding terroirs, producing wines that reflect a traditional Rhône Valley style. The Cuvée Sétier is made from 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvèdre, all grown in a Southern Rhône vineyard in a Mediterranean climate. Flavours are rich and fruit-forward as a result: cassis and black cherry lead on the palate, followed by licorice and black tar notes. Pair this with pepper-rubbed steak, or grilled game meats.
