2022 Beaune Rouge, Clos des Mouches, 1er Cru, Joseph Drouhin, Burgundy

Clos des Mouches sits on the mid-slope at the south end of the appellation, next to Pommard. It is picked in several passes as each block ripens. In 2022 this was between 27th August and 5th September. There is 25% whole-bunch. This is rich, creamy and spicy, with hedonistic berry fruit and a sophisticated finish of fine, layered tannins.
