2019 Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard, Burgundy

Caroline Lestime farms more than a hectare of Caillerets in the lieux-dits of En Cailleret and Les Combards, both near the top of the slope. She considers this a 'top level' premier cru, and in 2019 it gave a wine that perfectly balances richness and lively acidity. The aromas show forward exotic notes of citrus first that take on nuance with time. The wine enrobes the palate with densely resonant textures and a buttery feel that lingers on the satisfyingly persistent finish.
