Champagne Krug, Grande Cuvée, 172ème Édition, Brut

Krug is no stranger to crafting iconic Champagnes, but their Grande Cuvée is consistently one of its most impressive creations. This is a blend of over 120 individual wines, from over 10 separate vintages. The aim is to create a wine that has a fullness of flavour and complexity like no other: it simply would not be possible to achieve this in a single vintage Champagne. This edition is composed of 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. It offers fine, vivacious bubbles, notes of ripe and dried citrus fruit, marzipan and gingerbread, and a wonderful palate of barley sugar, hazelnut, nougat, brioche, honey and lemon.
