2023 Lioco, Pinot Noir, Mendocino County, California, USA

Lioco’s Pinot Noir brings together elements of the unique Mendocino region, highlighting the effects of the Pacific Ocean on vineyards here. In addition, it celebrates the new Comptche AVA, with the 2023 vintage being the first to bring in grapes from this area: this has resulted in distinctive purple fruit and coniferous notes to the wine, alongside its standard salted plum, blackberry flower and shiitake mushroom notes. This was aged for eight months in neutral oak and stainless steel. Pair with rotisserie chicken.
