2020 Valbuena 5°, Vega Sicilia, Ribera del Duero, Spain

It is impossible not to fall in love with this gorgeous wine's fine, elegant, floral aromas. A mix of sweet wild strawberries and fresh red and black cherries imbue the senses, but all in such a poised and elegant way. This is clearly a delicate yet sophisticated Valbuena.

The palate is fine with ripe red cherries and plum coulis mixing with softer hedgerow fruit. All is so fresh and has such a lovely balance with an undercurrent of purity running through its core. The tannins are once again so fine; they are only just evident, whilst the long, lingering finish brims with a cleansing cherry stone purity. Utterly delicious.
