De Montille’s vines here are well situated, in a slight depression where the soil is deeper and more humid – a real benefit in warmer vintages. The nose has a pleasing gunflint reduction which carries through onto the palate. Concentrated, intense and focused, with a pure thread of acid, this is a complex wine with enormous potential.
