At just over 0.5 hectares, Caroline has the largest holding in this, arguably Chassagne’s top Premier Cru. It’s steeply sloping, with shallow topsoil and lots of stones. The nose is discreet, with a mineral reduction; the palate is a little more open. This is a wine for the long term. There’s power, intense minerality and a salivating finish.
