Description

Bright ruby in colour, the 2020 Barolo Del Comune Di Verduno is fresh with aromas of sweet red strawberries, fresh orange, a hint of pepper, and dried earth. Its freshness and elegance continue on the palate, where this medium-bodied red offers fine tannins, balance, and finesse with a clean, refined feel of strawberry and spice. A beautiful wine, it’s going to drink well over the coming ten years.

The 2020 Barolo del Comune di Verduno is a solid entry-level offering. Pretty and ethereal, with fine balance, the 2020 is wonderfully alluring right out of the gate. Dark cherry, plum, incense, licorice and dried herbs all grace this understated, classy Barolo. Vineyard sites are Riva Rocca, Rocche dell’Olmo, Boscatto and Pisapola.

Verduno. Grapes came from Rive Rocca, Rocche dell’Ormo, Boscato, Pisapola and Campasso. Cask sample, will be bottled in January 2024.

Lustrous mid-ruby. A little bit of oak over ripe raspberry fruit with minerally notes of wet earth. The merest suggestion of eucalyptus. With aeration, the oak note becomes balsamic. Elegant, supple and concentrated raspberry fruit with a layer of chewy tannins. Tactile, long and fresh.
