2019 Barolo, Le Vigne, Luciano Sandrone, Piedmont, Italy

Luciano Sandrone started from humble beginnings, but today, his Barolos are regarded as amongst the finest in the region. The Le Vigne is a blend of fruit from Baudana in Serralunga d’Alba, Villero in Castiglione Falletto, Vignane in Barolo and Merli in Novello, as well as Le Coste MGA in Barolo, which was new to the 2019 vintage. It’s a very aromatic Barolo, with apple, blossom and strawberry on the nose. Full-bodied and layered on the palate, it is more structured than in previous vintages, and will develop ever-more complexity with time.
