2015 Único, Vega Sicilia, Ribera del Duero, Spain

The 2015 Único has a generous, expressive nose of sweet red and black cherries, with a touch of liquorice. The aromas are complex, with deep blackcurrant fruit that frames the whole, overlaid by an intriguing lift of fresh peach. It’s ripe yet focused and very fine; still fresh, but just relaxing into a hint of maturity at this stage. A tart raspberry edge draws everything in on the long, vibrant finish.
