2015 Château Léoville Poyferré, St Julien, Bordeaux

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc.

The crunchy, ripe and fresh fruit is wonderfully attractive here. Gloriously fresh and appealing, there is some coolness too. The wine is very dark, the nose expresses red fruits, truffles and hints of oak, while the palate is nicely concentrated, with fleshy full-bodied fruit and appealing silky tannins on the finish. This is a wine to be cellared for several years and will reward those with patience. Really intense, dark and brooding, it is a Poyferré of real substance and class.
