This smells like an essence of beautifully ripe King Alfonso mangos. Enormously deep and ripe, but so vibrant and energetic, with moderate sweetness for this category. Almost perfect balance at the long, really fascinating exotic-fruit finish. From the Grand Cru Sporen site. Still really youthful at 12 years of age.

Deep gold with lots of botrytis on the nose and wonderful satin texture. Massively sweet but with quite enough acidity. Really fine and beautifully balanced. Already offering masses of pleasure. Some tartrates and an undertow of savoury nerve to stop it being sickly at all.

The golden-yellow 2010 Gewurztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles "S" is an impressive beauty. The nose is beautifully deep, rich and precise as well as pure, fresh and spicy with tropical) fruit aromas, notes of lemon chutney and even flinty, peppery terroir aromas. This is a wine of great finesse and elegance as well as energy and balance. Tannins and mineral acidity go hand in hand due to the perfect botrytis. 11.9% alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022.
