2010 Barolo, Cerretta, Giovanni Rosso, Piedmont, Italy

More of a sense of (single vineyard) clarity is provided by Barolo Cerretta: with beautifully scented vivid rose petal and red berry aromas on the nose; again such limpidity, finezza and beautiful balance, very self-contained and full of poise. Typical Cerretta, with its redder, iron-rich soils (that speak more of Castiglione Falletto than Serralunga ironically), giving swooning, almost brambly fruit, polposo/fleshy, and as ever with a bright, cleansing acidity.
