2007 Côte-Rôtie, Lancement, Stéphane Ogier, Rhône

Coming from a lieu-dit on the edge of the Côte Blonde, the 2007 Michel & Stéphane Ogier Côte-Rôtie Cuvée Lancement has soaring aromatics of spiced meats, bacon, white pepper and deep, rich fruit. Very fragrant, there’s a serious core of minerality as well. This medium to full bodied wine shows impeccable balance, a solid, firm mid-palate, textured and perfectly ripe fruit, and a long, edgy finish. Lively and energy packed, this should drink well over the next 15 or more years.
