This fine Orcadian dram leaps out of the glass with a surprisingly pungent wave of peat smoke – though, with a little time, more complex aromas of honey and sherbet lemons emerge. Smoky peat characters continue on the palate, alongside notes of leather, dried ash and boot polish. The finish gives a burst of gooseberry jam, tinned pineapple and lingering powerful floral peat.
