1992 Richebourg, Grand Cru, Domaine Méo-Camuzet, Burgundy
Description
The '92 Richebourg is a wine that I have enjoyed on numerous occasions though this bottle sourced directly from the domaine is clearly the best one that I've had in several years. A positively lovely, seductive, complex and perfectly mature nose precedes barely medium weight flavors supported by ever so slightly rustic tannins and good finishing power. This is a relatively concentrated wine in the context of the lighter style of the 1992 vintage and it's really quite impressive as it's an unmitigated success for the vintage or otherwise stated, this is not a genuinely great wine but it is a great '92. And while it's not a highly complex Richebourg, unlike many '92s, the integrated structure will allow this to drink well for at least another decade if well stored. Consistent notes.
