What's New from Bordeaux

To learn what makes 2025 an outstanding vintage, read our vintage report. See below for details on the week's key releases and a quick summary of our recommendations. At the bottom of the page, we've included a full list of the wines we intend to offer, along with prices, standard formats, and critic scores.

What's New This Week:

Friday, June 12th:

The curtain falls on the 2025 Bordeaux En Primeur campaign today and the final flourish is provided by a sublime Montrose (£618 per six). This was the only wine of the vintage to receive a potential 100-point score from both William Kelley and Neal Martin. Sadly, production of the Grand Vin was a tiny fraction of its potential this year and we’ve immediately sold out to those who put in wishlist requests. We are trying to buy more in Bordeaux so please let us know if you are interested and we will do our best.

In Pomerol, Conseillante (£834 per six) is another show-stopper. We loved the gorgeous core of opulent fruit and typically velvety tannins. A potential 100-point score from William Kelley gives further endorsement of Marielle Cazaux’s sublime 2025 – if it was needed. There is never much Conseillante produced, so this is another I would not hesitate to buy En Primeur to ensure you don’t miss out.

Thursday, June 11th:

This morning sees the release of a very well-priced Léoville Las Cases (£660 per six) – the third vintage made in the state-of-the-art new winery. This really is a bargain compared to recent vintages of a similar quality and it’s highly rated too. Neal Martin and William Kelley both scored it 96-98 points, and Jeb Dunnuck even called it ‘one of the wines of the vintage’. We expect this will sell quickly in Bordeaux.

Also released today is Ausone (£1,092 per three). Fans of this great estate will love the vintage and in many ways it’s a landmark Ausone. The first to include 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from five tiny plots located on a terrace close to the quarry. There is also no Chapelle this year, such was the quality across the whole vineyard, the first time that’s happened since 1994! The result is ‘one of the most refined, classy Ausone vintages in recent years’, according to William Kelley who rated it 97-99 points.

Wednesday, June 10th:

An utterly majestic Margaux (£1,086 per three) was released this morning. At the time of writing we are down to our last few bottles, so you will need to be quick to secure a case. It’s truly a wine for the ages with critics proclaiming unanimous magnificence! We also have very small quantities of Pavillon Blanc (£732 per three) and Pavillon Rouge (£582 per six) available.

Figeac (£690 per six) and Vieux Chateau Certan (£810 per six) are also outstanding wines from St Emilion and Pomerol, respectively. They rank clearly among the best ‘Right Bank’ wines of the vintage. Both are priced well too and ‘VCC’ is notable too because it’s the first full vintage under Guillaume Thienpont – what a debut! We can offer special 5 Litre Jeroboams of VCC exclusive to Berry Bros. & Rudd at £950 each.

Finally, we have St Estèphe Calon Ségur (£399 per six) – a wine that will delight those who like a deep, cerebral style of Claret focused on Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tuesday, June 9th:

Very exciting to have a First Growth this morning! The eagle-eyed will notice that Haut Brion (£840 per three) is priced below Lafite (£1,047 per three) and Mouton (£918 per three). It’s also one of the highest rated wines of the vintage with potential 100-point scores from Neal Martin, Jeb Dunnuck, and the Wine Advocate! Production of Haut Brion Blanc is radically reduced in this vintage. Please let a Private Client Advisor know if you would like some and we will do our best.

In Pauillac, we have another very highly rated Pichon Baron (£546 per six), which Antonio Galloni called ‘a total stunner’. This is priced fractionally below Pichon Lalande but slightly above some other highly rated back-vintages of Pichon Baron in the market today.

Monday, June 8th:

We are fast approaching the end of the 2025 Bordeaux En Primeur campaign and they’ve saved some of the best until last!

This morning we have Ducru Beaucaillou (£540 per six) – one of the sharpest release prices of the whole campaign – substantially below comparable vintages. A ‘highlight of the year’ as Antonio Galloni calls it, and we firmly agree. We can also offer a global exclusive on 5Litre Jeroboams at £650 each.

In St Emilion, we have two potential 100-point wines in Beau-Séjour Bécot (£270 per six) and Troplong Mondot (£438 per six). Both of these estates have undergone huge investment and a stylistic transformation in recent years. These are now wines that balance natural concentration with impressive freshness and precision. These 2025s show they are both now firmly among the best wines in the appellation. We can offer a barrel of Beau-Séjour Bécot (equivalent to 300 bottles). Please reach out to a Private Client Advisor for more details. Also released in St Emilion today is Clos Fourtet (£336 per six)

From Pomerol, we have the Durantou family’s magnificent l'Eglise-Clinet (£603 per three). Volumes are always tight, so please let us know as soon as possible if you would like some.
