Tuscany

The IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) Tuscany wine classification was introduced in 1992 to allow winemakers more flexibility than the strict DOC and DOCG classifications. It enables using traditional and non-traditional grape varieties and experimenting with winemaking techniques and has played a significant role in developing Super Tuscan wines.
