2020 Barolo, Bussia, Ceretto, Piedmont, Italy
Description
The Bussia was made from 0.71 hectares of fruit from a south-east-facing vineyard in Monforte d’Alba. With a fresh feel on the palate, this is a good 2020 expression. There’s an approachable yet cool blue finish, alongside herbal tones, rose and violet notes, and – of course – Monforte’s signature strength.

Critics reviews
The 2020 Barolo Bussia opens with beguiling aromatics. Dried herbs, tobacco, mint, leather and crushed rose petal give the 2020 striking aromatic presence. There is a sense of dynamic energy and complexity that resonates beautifully in this vivid, young Barolo from Ceretto. The Bussia has it all.
Drink 2025 - 2038
Floral aromas, rich red fruits and a rack full of spices come together beautifully in this structured, elegant wine with a long track record. Tangy cranberries, crisp red raspberries, rose petals and balsam interweave on nervy tannins and a medium to full body.
Best from 2028 and beyond
Showing more structure than Brunate, the Ceretto 2020 Bussia is still quite closed, offering sensations of blood orange, pomegranate, brown pepper and ground clove. It’s tight and racy, with firm tannins.
