The duo comprises of two Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, picked for their opposing character. One, smooth, sweet and suave as can be. The other, smouldering, characterful, with a penchant for drama.

Only 50 numbered sets will be release globally. Available exclusively at Berry Bros. & Rudd. Find out more here.

‘The Duel is a masterwork in visual storytelling. The case’s split decoration has been created in eco-friendly jesmonite and hints at the intrinsic differences between the two hidden whiskies. Then, as you open the case the drama begins to unfold. I think that Duel is an incredible release that captures everything premium whisky bottles should be aiming for. There is theater, story and shelf presence, and then at the heart of it two iconic whiskies.’

Mark Littler, Forbes (November 2025)

Account No.1 is told by ‘Justice’.

An impressive amount of freshness and tropical fruit to smell. Plenty of nuttiness but it is the marzipan and chewy orange marmalade that really captures my attention. There's a sophistication to the whisky that comes with aging but in no way do I feel that the liquid has been overconsumed by wood. Apricots and tropical fruit again. Some richness, very textural with a nice density but all fresh lively flavours. A subtle hint of sweetness, candied melon and some vanilla as a nod to the time in cask. Poise and panache. The finish is so long that there's no need to revisit other than for the pure joy of it. The simple impression that this whisky left on me was that 'I was drinking the very best'. Remarkable and surprising.

Account No.2 is told by ‘Honour’.

I am frequently asked which is my favourite whisky, and since trying this I have found that my answer over and over again is 'old Laphroaig'. The exciting aromas of bacon and BBQ waft out of the glass to greet you. Then slowly this meatiness gives way to the rest of the meal; grilled vegetables and halloumi. I love the smoky pineapple flavours and all the juicy fruit. Mineral precision. Reminiscent of a fine Chablis. The peat smoke is present in whisps of maritime notes and lightly smothered coals. It is completely exceptional and there is no higher praise I can give.'

Eddie Garner, Account Manager - Spirits, Berry Bros. & Rudd

https://us.bbr.com/products/the-duel-1970-speyside-classified-1991-laphroaig-two-bottle-assortment-case-in-a-presentation-b
